Tweed Wedding Locations
Kingscliff has that sleepy, coastal village feel and offers great outdoor possibilities for your wedding. Jack Bayliss Park, Kingscliff Lions Park, Faulks Park, Ed Parker Rotary Park, Jack Julius Park and Robert Dixon Park are perfect locations for weddings. There are also a couple of stunning, secret locations, known only to locals, that I would be happy to share with you.
If you want to have Plan B in place in case of nasty weather, the Kingscliff Community Hall, on the beachfront in the centre of town, is available for a small rental fee. I will gladly supply contact details.
Casuarina, a little to the south of Kingscliff, is only 15 minutes away from the Gold Coast Airport and boasts a casual, seaside ambience. There are countless options for your outdoor wedding location in Casuarina and nearby Salt Village, Cabarita, Pottsville and Hastings Point. If choosing the golden sands of the beautiful beaches you might like to consider the wind factor. Nestling either side of Norries Headland will provide instant refuge. There are numerous foreshore parks and reserves that dot the coastline and include the area in front of Mantra and Salt Bar, Casuarina Reserve, Cabarita Beach Lions Park and Hastings Point Headland.
Keep the comfort of your guests in mind for beach weddings and consider supplying chilled water, parasols and a basket of rubber thongs.
Hosting an outdoor ceremony in a public place in Kingscliff and Casuarina requires permission from the Tweed Shire Council and incurs a fee of $72.
Halcyon House captures that tranquil, carefree feel of Australian summers passed and is nestled in the pandanus palms right on the beach at one of Australia’s most idyllic coastal towns, Cabarita. A former beachside motel, Halcyon House has been transformed into a stylish, luxury boutique hotel overlooking one of the country’s iconic surf breaks. Halcyon House is located a short 15 minutes south of Gold Coast International Airport and 30 minutes north of Byron Bay in an extraordinary region. Halcyon House not only offers individually designed, luxury suites but caters for the discerning diner with its award winning restaurant, Paper Daisy, a perfect choice sure to make your beachside wedding an inspirational experience.
Osteria, just south of Kingscliff on Casuarina Beach, is fast becoming the most sought after wedding venue on the Tweed Coast. Taking it’s name from the Italian equivalent of a place serving wine and simple but stunning food from local produce, Osteria offers a stunning private garden area and industrial style hall, a perfect blank canvas for you to embellish with your personalised style.
Nestled in the foothills of Mt Warning, Mavis’s Kitchen and Cabins is the perfect wedding venue if you are after that unhurried, quiet, bespoke backdrop. This immaculately maintained property offers several ceremony options around the pond or up on the ridge with a view to Mt Warning in the background. Mavis’s accommodates your guests, wows them with fresh produce from their organic garden and ensures a brilliant celebration.
Hastings is another of the laid back sleepy seaside villages that abound along the northern New South Wales coastline. The beauty of this area is that it is a short 20 minute commute to the Coolangatta International Airport yet retains its casual, unspoilt mode. Most weddings take place on the point where Cudgera Creek meets the ocean. On the sand or on the grass options are available for your perfect ceremony. It’s recommended you apply to the Tweed Shire Council to secure your site. Fees for casual park hire are currently $72.
Just across the Queensland – New South Wales border, Fingal Head is a small, unspoilt, coastal village 15 minutes south of the Coolangatta International Airport. Fingal remains one of those little gems dotting the coast of Australia and is a perfect choice for your laid back wedding celebration. Situated at the mouth of the Tweed River, this laid back, seaside village offers either the long stretch of white sandy surf beach to the south of the headland known as Dreamtime Beach or Main Beach to the north of the headland. Epic sunsets over the Tweed River, make the pockets of reserve along the river a great refuge if you wanted to escape the sand and sometimes windy conditions of the beach. The headland and Fingal Lighthouse area are currently not available for weddings. It’s recommended you apply to Tweed Shire Council to secure your ceremony site. Casual Park Hire fees are currently $72.
